Who We Are

2nd Generation Family-Owned Business

Izako Limited, is a limited liability company incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Ghana. The family -owned business has been in the food distribution industry since 2002 and in 2013 Izako was formed as a larger importer of frozen meat and poultry products with cold storage facilities in the major parts of Ghana. The company having become a one stop shop for frozen meat, poultry and fish products is located in Tema, Fishing Harbour, the hub for the cold storage business in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. The company is the head office of the Lightwell Group, a food distribution company in West Africa.

At Izako, we have many strings to our bow. We are an established multi-category sales,
marketing, import business offering unrivalled access to Ghana and the West African markets. We offer a stream of high quality frozen products which are distributed for sales, in every retail shop across the geographical areas of our operations.

We strive to become the ultimate choice of customers thus making us synonymous to the
importation of frozen foods in the Tema metropolis and beyond. Our greatest desire is to enhance the quality of life through the sourcing of quality and cost effective products for all social levels classified in the country.

We intend to in a matter of urgency, consolidate the West African boundaries by December
2025. This we intend to achieve by developing a model that seeks to identify country
representatives who will represent our company as “sole and exclusive” distributors in their respective countries. Currently we have extended our boundaries to customers in neighboring countries such as Togo and Cote d’Ivoire.

Following our success, and the company’s quest to becoming a one stop shop, it has consolidated its business with the ‘dry’ products with its sister company, Probianca in creating a chain of distribution needed to distribute all the range of canned products as well as general grocery products and to serve our customers better, Kakus Foods was incorporated to market the horeca (Hotel, Restaurants and Café) aspects of IZAKO’s products.
